I can always count on Paste Magazine. Not only do the offer great print and online media but they know how to throw a hell of a SXSW party. I posted about the great time I had a SXSW10 seeing Fanfarlo there, but I also  had fun picking up a ton of free goodies. This year they have free Wine, Gin, and Beer – three things very close to any SXSW Party Girls’ heart. On top of all that they have bands I really want to see, like Tennis, Of Monsters and Men, Reptar, Blitzent Trapper…basically majority of the bands listed.

The Paste Magazine Party will feature 33 bands and take place over three days on Austin’s Eastside. You have to get there early to make sure you get in and to make sure you get your hands on the free alcohol! (In case you haven’t noticed every party with free booze requires you to get there early – if they have free booze and good bands get there earlier!) Every band playing this party will be featured on  Paste Magazine’s website over the next month.

Tennis is an indie pop, husband-and-wife band, from Denver. I really enjoyed Tennis’ debut album Cape Dory, which came out about a year ago. I didn’t get a chance to see them at SXSW last year, so they have made it on the must see list this year. They are promoting their new album,  Young & Old, which came out yesterday. The album is produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys, who topped off one of my favorite SXSW showcases in 2010. You can hear the entire album below:
